Default Terminal 3 - ADO Bus

I'll be flying into Terminal 3 at the end of this month.

As I understand, the ADO bus departs at 25 minutes past the hour. Do I buy tickets on the bus? Or is there a ticket stand in the Terminal? Oh...and where is the bus located?

Thanks!!

hey girl!
you can buy tickets in the terminal (on the left as you approach the exit) or at the bus
...the bus is to the right past the palapa bar after you exit the terminal

Vanessa, our son came for a few days last month. He said that as you leave the terminal, turn right and the bus will be just a few steps away. Easy! He bought his ticket directly from the driver.

On the return, the bus stopped first at terminal 2 and everyone got off. He asked the bus driver if he was going over to terminal 3 and he said yes, so he was dropped off right at the terminal.

Default When you return to the airport

If you are going to Terminal 3 on your return, make sure that your bags stay on the bus past Terminal 2! The driver will let you hop off and tell the baggage person which ones are yours.

Good tip John, I would not have thought about that!

I would hate to have to chase my bags.

That happened to me on the way TO the airport the last time I flew to Playa. I took the hotel transfer to Ohare aiport and we made a stop at a car rental place on the way. About half the van unloaded with people. As we were pulling away, I noticed that my luggage was sitting on the curb!!

Default ADO bus

Just wondering if I am catching the bus in terminal 2 or 3. If I am able to catch it in 3 is the time later because it is stopping at 2 first?

It is my understanding that the bus stops at T3 first 20 minutes before it goes over to the Main Terminal.

So, if the bus schedule states that the bus leaves at 11:45am from the Main Terminal it would actually be at T3 at 11:25.

I'll be traveling next week and will be able to re-confirm this for you.

Great! We get in town on the 7th, via Ado. Can you take a beer or two on the bus for the ride to Playa?

Not really. Public transportation. If you hire a cab or van to yourself, it becomes essentially a private vehicle, and you can ask the driver to stop at the 7-11 you'll pass soon after leaving the airport for some "roadies." The driver will likely suggest it, as a matter of fact, or at least that's been our experience.

That has been my experience too.

Last time comming down from Playa in our cab we stopped, bought 4 beers and headed down the road only to realize that we needed a bottle opener...they werent twist offs!

The cab driver didnt miss a beat, grabbed my beer, popped off his seatbelt and used that to open the beer top....then did the other 3 like hed done it a thousand times. I had no idea until that trip that you could use a seat belt like that to open a beer.

We've taken beers on the Ado bus. They never said anything to us, we just didn't make a big deal out of it. Course they were cans and unopened when we boarded...

They get kinda annoyed when you finish it, belch and crush the can on your forehead though...well they do when Judy does it at least!

you can take drinks and snacks on the bus for the ride to Playa, the draw back is you have to buy them at the airport mucho dinero!!
My kid was wanting a bag of chips so I told him he could go get some, a small bag of lays potato chips was $7.00 U.S.!!!

Angry Bad bus driver

On the 26th of Jan, about 10 of us were still on the bus after the stop at Terminal 2. The bus driver would not take us to Terminal 3 unless we "bought" a ticket from him. Quite frustrating as we knew this should not be the case, so we all got off and walked the distance - and it is a distance - to Terminal 3. Could have argued a bit, but we were already late as the bus was more than 25 minutes behind schedule.
