Bullfighting in Cancun

On April 27 one of the best bullfighters in the world, Spain's José Miguel Arroyo Delgado, will be at Cancun's Plaza. Delgado is considered to be one of the finest bullfighters of modern times and has been given the name (great bullfighters are given "stage" names) of Joselito, the name previously given to one of the three greatest bullfighters of the 20th century.

The Corrida starts at 6:00 and will probably last 2-3 hours. Cost vary but if prices are as usual, the best seats will be in the range of $30-40 usd.

Yes, I know some people hate bullfighting with a passion. I respect your opinion. However this is just an information posting. The Plaza de Toros in Cancun is a beautiful building; I've never seen one like it. Plus, there is a Performance bike shop there (along with many restaurants)

Yesterday was the Spring Festival at the kid's school. Benji's class did a Cri Cri song about bullfighting. They had kids dressed up as matadors, toreros and bullfight señoritas. One kid was the bull (looked more like a cow, but we understood. ). As I watching, I thought of T's thread.

An update on the Bullfight...it didn't happen. I went last night along with another playa local (whose identity will remain hidden to avoid being targeted by PETA enforcers). It seems that Joselito is ill and decided not to fight. As I just recently read how he was once gored and almost killed while fighting with the flu, I'm thinking this was a good move. We had tacos and went home.

The Corrida was rescheduled for May 25th.
