Her name is Margo. She is incredible. I think they were talking about closing the place down for a month in the summer. I can't remember which month it is. They were saying that the mosquitos get so unbearable during that time. But I could be wrong so definitely check it out.

Did you stay at Serenidad Shardon? We stopped there to look around when we were there in March. It looked like a great place to stay. That was our first time down in Punta Allen, I loved it there! Can't wait to go back.

I said that because we had just left there the day before, so I'm sure she would remember us. I also told her we would spread the word about the place. She has had many couples stay there since. If she doesn't remember us just tell her we were her first wedding at Xamach.

We took a taxi to Punta Allen and were lucky to have the owner (Niki) of Serinidad Shardon drive us to Tulum the day we checked out. We were so fortunate to have a local give us a private tour! Niki showed us Sol Caribe, Xamach Dos (cemetary & the ruins across the street)--both places very cool!!! We stopped and had a much needed cold beer at Xamach Dos. Niki also pulled over a few other spots on the road and showed us other small ruins- very cool. They are in need of rain bad! The trees along the road were coated in a white film from the road dust.

Where did you take the taxi from to get to PA?

Took the ADO bus to Tulum then we grabbed a taxi there for the rest of the ride to PA. The taxi was around ($60) which we were told was a good price. I was told the price depends on the weather and the condition of the road- when it rains and the road conditions are worse the drivers charge more.
Diane from Caribe del Sol said taxis run anywhere from $60-$100 one way from Tulum. But after reading about how affordable it is to rent a vehicle- we may opt for that next trip!

...and Yes to another question, we did stay at Serinidad Shardon, it was great!...Will be adding photos from our stay there to the continuation of our trip report soon!
