Default Questons that have been asked before but Im a freak so Im asking again =)

Okay my Honeymoon is just 3 weeks away, and I'm trying to do a little planning here. I want to go to Tulum, and I heard Tulum and Beyond was great, but I may just take a colectivo and hit that and Akumal on my own. Also, looking into a trip to Coba. Seems to be a little less busy but still neat. And Last, I want to go to Isla Mujeres and rent a golf cart and play. My question is, what are your suggestions to do there, and also what's the best way to get there from PDC? Bus, taxi, etc....? (I know I have to take Ferry from CUN)
Thanks y'all!

Isla is great and a perfect day-trip from Playa del Carmen. You can easily take a bus to Cancun and a cab to the ferry (Gran Puerto) in Puerto Juarez. The ferry ride takes about 17 minutes and you can rent a cart for $55 usd for the day. Prices are the about same everywhere so don't waste your time shopping it out to save 5 bucks. Things I would recommend to do on Isla Mujeres.

1. Rent cart
2. Drive to Punta Sur to take pictures and feed the iguanas
3. Go to Garrafon Park for snorkeling and ziplining
4. Visit the turtle sanctuary
5. Have lunch and spend a few hours at Zama beach club
6. Wander around town taking in the sights
7. Check out the progress of Ritchie's Spiral Island
8. Swim and sun on beautiful Playa Norte

Rob and I and the kids have been to Isla dozens of times over the past few years. Here are the links to our various trip reports. Enjoy the island!!

Also, be sure to check our my friend Wayne's blog, Gringo in Paradise. He lives on the island and is a wealth of information. If you are looking for dining advise, I am happy to help out.

Wow Michele!! Thanks for all the great info! It seems pretty simple to just catch a bus, hop a ferry, and cart it around the island. I can't wait!

OK.

For a quick coffee and banana bread to go, we like Aluxes. For sit down full on breakfast try Manana. They have a nice used book selection as well. Lunch always end up being wherever we are, usually Zama or if we are at North Beach, Jaks has great burgers. Their kitchen is under reno and will not be reopened until October. Picas on what we call Front Street, just north of where the ferries come in has great seafood. For dinner, the choices are wide open. We love Comono on the southern end of Hidalgo. It's a mediterranean place run by Isrealis. Great fresh, healthy food. Another new favorite for cuban/creole cuisine is Vinales on Front Street. I hear excellent reviews for Olivia's so I would recommend you give them a try. Looking for good pizza, Rolandi's on Hidalgo is the place to go.

Here is a map of downtown Isla Mujeres to help you out! Sorry, I couldn't find good links to all the places. A Google search will help you find the locations and reviews.
