Looking for

a relatively inexpensive hotel, on or near the beach, with AC and TV, for this weekend (want to see Superbowl). Monday is a holiday, so I want to get away. Anywhere around here, is cool. Any ideas?

Edit: Since I put this in the wrong forum, I will do a trip report when I get back.

We have found hotels on Isla de Mujeres to be relatively inexpensive.

Have stayed at the Posada del Mar - across the street from the beach, swimming pool.....

I was thinking about Isla but, if we go, I will probably call my aunt and uncle and stay at their new house. Just trying to get over the of asking. They just built, what is probably, the sweetest house on the entire island.

If I COULD go to Isla to watch the Superbowl, that would be my choice. As the decision in this case is up to "He who thinks he is the boss of me" we will either be at PG's or at home (where I will be expected to serve up Pigs in a Blanket and similar delightful snacks) .

Where did your Aunt and Uncle build their house? We will require pictures apon your return.

It is right across the street from the new Navy building. You can actually see the two palapas, on top of their house (which they actually turned into a three story duplex) from the ferry. It looks like, well..., a couple of boobs extending into the skyline.
