Yea, you are making all of us who live in playadise a bit jealous!!

One thing I really love about your reports is all of your random encounters with people... the nice people who invited you to their house for dinner, the owners of hotels and restaurants, etc. I'm sure having the kids (especially Rob - ) in tow helps to get to know people much easier.

Great trip report. I hope Libby and I make it down to Belize sometime in the next year. Maybe we'll learn from you and escape for next year's Easter Week.

To everyone who was nice enough to read along, leave nice messages here or on the blog or via email, thank you! I can only hope the story shows the trip to be half as fun as it actually was! I have a follow up blog entry in the works, tips for travelers, interesting facts, discoveries etc...I imagine much of it will be funny.

I am already planning next year's expedition....Guatemala!! Of course, we will drive through Belize and stop in to visit new friends along the way. I can't wait!

I have really enjoyed reading your report! I was finishing up the last couple days over the weekend and my 4 year old was reading it with me....he was very jealous of Birdie jumping off the pier!

Default just wondering....

Is there any chance of picking up a rental car in Cancun, and doing the sort of trip that was written about here? I have been looking at doing this sort of meandering trip, and airfare to Belize city from Chicago is about $800 US, but same time from Chicago to Guatamala City is about $440 US.....what gives?
We just a couple of working grunts that like to go south to get warm in winter .......as Hank Williams Jr. put it, this ain't Dynasty, this aint Dallas,,,,,,
kinda like a lotta other people round here......?
