Not alot of excitement at night. There are people in the bars, but your going to have to make your own fun-that, or go to Playa del Carmen.

There is the Lol-ha retaurant/beach bar, not too sure what time it closes at night though. It's nothing too crazy, pretty laid back, but have met some really fun people there.

We thought about staying there for a few nights in July, but decided to stay in Playa, and do a few day trip there.

5 nights should be great for relaxing

Not mush nitelife in Akumal except taking a Turtle nesting walk with the Center there. June is when they lay their eggs and they need people to help them mark the nests.

There is a great little restaurant in Chemuyil down the highway called Pizza Leos. Good food and they have alcohol.

Akumal is more of a place to chill out and get away from it all.

We'll be in Akumal 6/6-6/10, then Playa through 6/15. Akumal is the chillin part of the trip. In the past we would make a few day trips to Akumal, this year we wanted to start there because it is so relaxing.

Lol-Ha and La Buena Vida do have some good times at night. It is very much dependent on who is there at the time you are there. Check loco gringo.com to see if there may be something happening when you will be there.
