Hey, I also turned 40 this year, too - last October. Is the Dr. Oz book any good? I like him on Oprah, but I often feel like he's giving me a lecture.

I am reading Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson. Very inspiring!

I really like Dr. Oz on Oprah too. I love how he simplifies everything.

I am reading an enjoying "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. This is the first book I read by her and I like her writting style.

I also got "1000 Splendid Suns" from Santa but I am saving that one for my next beach read. I loved Kite Runner!

I have found it to be very informative and interesting to read. Its not nearly as dry as I feared it might be....its kinda like listening to Dr. Oz speak....so I would recommend it thus far yes.

A poof is a gay man.

This is what you need, my man.

It's awesome!

(I know most Brit terms....I watch a UK soap opera called Coronation street for 2 1/2 hours every Sunday.)

thanks that will help a lot .....the book is really fasinating......I can't put it down.....I will finish it tonight.....he really is a lot more than just some bully foul mouth chef .....alot of candid insight into his rise to fame....and his ego does not get in the way of telling of his many professional mistakes and misjudgments of people

Picked up my second beach read tonight. "Next" by Michael Crichton. About genetics gone bad. My other beach read is "The Ruins" by Scott Smith. Set in the jungles of Mexico. The book starts in Cozumel.

I just got it (Eat,Pray,Love)from my co-worker today! Along with Anthony Bourdain's other travel/foodie book called The Nasty Bits.

So I have great reading material for Cuba.
I am also taking Anne Franks' Diary of a Young Girl, I have never read it before, believe it or not.

I need one more to take along and it has to be a fairly big book...any good suggestions? I would get Ramsay's but I think I have enough books about food.

I'm going to borrow Eat Pray Love from a coworker. I'm reading in very short sessions so I was pleased when my husband bought me 200 Greatest Destinations: Art, History, Nature, published by UNESCO about World Heritage Sites. (He bought it after extracting a promise that I wouldn't start booking flights we can't afford to take vacation time we don't have )
