Interesting article on gas pricing.
Townhall.com::Gas Prices and the Blame Game::By Ed Feulner One of the links explains in a highly "techie" way the reason for production changes at he refinery to maximize profit. By making less gas from a barrel of crude, they can make more money! Who's a thunk?Headlines - Winning Fuel Buying Strategies | June 25-27, 2008 | Houston, TX

At some pumps in the UK (its always a bit more expensive in the south of the country) prices for unleaded petrol are currently at £1.15 (about $2.30) per litre for unleaded fuel, although the average for the UK is around £1.10 per litre ($2.20) for unleaded, and £1.20 ($2.40) for diesel.
I believe you have all been talking in prices per gallon, correct? So..... as 1 gallon = 4.55 litre, that would bring the averages to compare with yours, to $10.01 per gallon unleaded and $10.92 per gallon diesel. Make you feel better over that side of the pond?? |
