We were given the tour and had our pick of 3 of the 4 villas not taken. We stayed at Villa Estella complete with House Boy, who we never saw until we wished. That price includes anything you want for dining pleasure and activities, salt-water fly fishing, scuba, snorkle, deep-sea fishing etc..... We ate as the sun set at a private palapa with the finest china & linens, rack of lamb as the main course. I had done 2 paintings that the owner purchased in advance. We were boated slowly around the tiny island so I could take more photos for future paintings. Some guest never even see each other and that's the way they like it. I kept expecting to see Marlon Brando (still alive at the time), Paul McCartney or some such celeb arouned every palm- No such luck!

On another note, Phyllis & I married for 23 yrs(oops, I recently got that wrong on another thread) coming up in August are opposites in so many ways but above all, I'd say a true friendship and TRUST are the keys for us! I cannot imagine being on ANY private island with anyone but her!! (well, maybe ONE and NO she ain't on this forum- see crush thread) Congrats Xunshyne, here's wishing you all the best, always!
Stay away from the lil bitch.
Very impressive Barry. Did you have to pay for your accommodations or was your stay a gift from the owner?
You and Phyllis make such a nice couple. I love you guys to bits. Friendship and trust are the main ingredients for a successful and happy relationship.

Ok...now I'll have to to & check out Villa Estella.
I have an aunt 'Estelle' (french) and she is so gorgeous!

Yeah, we can't do it. We would have to forfeit our plane tix and then buy new ones, plus a resort cancellation fee. Too much money honey!!

Just once, briefly. I stayed in Cancun and we had to hop the ferry to Cozumel. So I haven't actually spent any real time there!!

Well you are going to love love love it! I for one am so glad you are not changing your plans! Just like others have said, go to Akumal for the day! It is so peaceful and quiet there! Also Tulum, which i have never been to, but plan on going a couple times this time!

The beach at Fusion at night is fantastic! I sure wish you could change your dates for your wedding for end of July! I would love to meet ya

There's always alot of locals (ex-pats) around. Arrange a roo-get together.
Just start a thread!
John, Libby, Biz, Sharon, PapaT and Cheri, Judyblueyes and Steve, Mark, Jez, Michelle, Dogman, and a bunch of others are always around...if not out of town. Sorry if I missed a few.

That sounds great! I'll start something in a while. I don't have anything planned for the honeymoon. I know what I WANT to do, but we will just have to see what happens

Belize's charm is lost on me and I'm about 15 minutes from there right now and I can go at any time. I think it's overrated. My vote would be for Tulum or Akumal, or maybe somewhere on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Congratulations on your impending nuptials.

Thanks! I'll make sure to spend a few days in Tulum and Akumal. I would ideally like to find a VERY private beach
