America's Got Talent

After watching some interesting promo ads for the season premier of "America's Got Talent," I decided to give it a go. I am NOT a fan of any of the talent shows, nor do I like any of the reality shows.

Holy crow! I should have KNOWN what it was going to be like, but I was hoping for something better! Basically it's a remake of the GONG SHOW with Jerry Springer standing in the wings. I think the Gong Show was funnier.

I only made it through the first hour. Maybe there were some better acts during hour two.

I just don't enjoy seeing people make fools out of themselves! The Romanian twins were just AWFUL! Sharon Osborne played the pity the poor immigrant hand for them and managed to get the other two judges to change their minds....and the 4 year old singer. Cute? YES. Talented? Not at this stage in her life, although she did remember all the lyrics.

Do any of you just absolutely LOVE this show? Maybe I'm missing something.

My wife tivoed it last night and when I got home from work she showed me the 4 year old. She was very cute and looked just like our niece. I thought the fact that she got out there and did what she did was awesome. The opera dude blew me away though,,,his story was a little over dramatic I thought, but he sure could sing and...sounded as good as any opera singer I've ever heard. Then again, I don't know opera all that well. I think it's kind of a cheesy show as well, great mindless entertainment which is ok sometimes.

I try to avoid the early rounds of this show but decided to watch it from the trailers & the "opera" dude. It's kinda fitting the American version found a Paul Potts, he is good though.

I watched last season until they kept putting "Boy Shakira" through!!
From then on I boycotted it.
Thought I would give it another shot but my daughter graduated hs last night (when WAS it on, anyway?)and I forgot all about it.
I take it I didn't miss much except maybe the younster?
