Default PostSeason 2008: Go Cubs Go!

“Go Cubs Go” Lyrics

By Steve Goodman

Baseball season’s underway
Well you better get ready for a brand new day
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.
They’re singing …
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.
They got the power, they got the speed
To be the best in the National League
Well this is the year and the Cubs are real
So come on down to Wrigley Field.
We’re singing now …
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.
Baseball time is here again
You can catch it all on WGN
So stamp your feet and clap your hands
Chicago Cubs got the greatest fans.
You’re singing now …
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Let's win this thing and give Mark Cuban a winning team next year.

Ok, Cuban probably won't be picked (or allowed) to buy the Cubs, but it's fun to imagine, regardless.

If any locals are planning on watching the games, we'll be at Pinche Gringo's for most, if not all, of the games. See you there!

You would not be a Cubs fan if you were not truly nervous!

I do have to say, however, that unlike previous years, the Cubs actually deserve to be in the post-season. They worked hard for it. Not only that, but they worked hard for it AS A TEAM. I credit Lou with making them a well-rounded team, as opposed to a group with one guy who could only hit home runs or strike out... or a team with 2 good pitchers who could never play because they were overworked and injured all the time. This year made me see what a good team actually looks like.

I'm not worried about this series, I think they'll do just fine. They just need to keep their heads on straight and do what they've been doing all season.

Let's see what they can do by opening the first two games of this series at home. GO CUBS!

Could not agree more! They have a great pitching staff and I hope they keep it up, just keep Bob Howry in the bullpen and we'll be fine!!!

Nice Shot DeRosa!

No team has ever won every game they played. Yes, it was a crappy first game for the Cubs, but we'll see if they pull their heads out of their asses and come back tomorrow.

I've seen worse losses during the regular season... and the next day the Cubs returned with a slaughter. We'll see what happens manana.

While the Cubbies are the favorite.... I can't help but think back to the last Dodger team that won in 88. This team seems to have that kinda chemistry....but, we'll see.

Honestly, after tonight's game, I wouldn't have guessed the Cubs were the favored team. I didn't see the Dodgers play during the regular season, so I can't say how they compared ... all I can say is that the Cubs didn't play like they have the majority of this season.

Tomorrow. Game on.

Ouch! Sorry John.

I'm routing for the Cubs to make it to the WS. They didn't play that bad last night, but obviously not good enough.
