Default Tattoo Suggestions

I've been considering the idea of getting a tattoo for awhile now. I'd like something, but I can't decide what .... And now one of my best girlfriends wants to get one, too, so we decided we would go together and both get one before summer. I still have a ways to go before summer, but honestly I can't decide on anything. Maybe something having to do with water? I am a swimmer, love to be in a lake, river, pool, ocean - anywhere. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I believe that a tattoo is an intensly personal thing. If you're "considering".....pass. It's a phase. If you are absolutley certain, then go back and think about it again. And then decide.

It is with you forever. I have multiple tattoos and would not trade them. But they are not for everyone.

Ink is addicting, once you get it in you, it's hard to stop.

Good luck with your decision and if you get one show us.......

I have also struggles with which one to get. I want something nautical but not too big. I have an obsession with sea turtles but I don't want anything too girlie... :-) who know's, one of these days I'll come up with the perfect one.

Thanks, but if it's a phase, it's been a long one. I've been thinking about geting one for years. I've just never been able to decide what to get. I see so many I like but then I change my mind. My husband jokes that I should get one on my chest that says, "Bob was here"

I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to talk down to you. I hope it didn't come across that way.

I was just trying to say be sure. It's with you like luggage.

I have one that says "Shorty"

Thanks, I know you weren't trying to talk me out of it. And believe me, I've really considered not getting one. For one, it'll really tick off my parents. But I am over that. Mostly.

Shorty would work for me - I am 5 feet tall.

Good luck,,,,my last 2 tattoos were of a Mayan Turtle on my foot and a fairy from the Vancouver artist Amy Brown. My Amy Brown Tattoo is my Avatar, still have to get some work, could not do it all in one sitting.....a great reason to return to Playa.

Have you tried the temporary tattoos? That's a good way to experiment to see what you like.

Dartay is correct, it is addicting. I never considered getting ink till I was in my mid 40's...midlife crisis i guess....Now I have two fairly large pieces and am wanting more.

I need to grow up...Ha!

I think it's important that whatever you choose, it has some meaning.
This way in 20 years you won't have an just an image that you thought looked cool at the time. Trust me on this one.

You can rough design something then take it in and let the artist do what they do.....The lower back one in this pic is really cool.....

Very true on the meaning of your piece. I would highly recommend researching artists you might be considering and once you found Mr/Mrs Right, consult with them and have them draw something up taylored to your wants, feelings, theme. It truly is a personal thing and it SHOULD be just right for the individual.

As for playalove....You go!!!! That is sooo cool. I feel at home here!
