ha ha! My specialty was acting like a little boy...asking for my mom...said she left this #....and then start crying....people would freak out trying to help....pretty shitty now I think about it but man could you screw with people back then

Or calling for a cab and sending them to your neighbors.
![]() I remember when we actually had to dial the numbers. Made it alot harder to be the 10th caller to a radio station. even if kids today have to mow the lawn, they use self mulching and self-propelled mowers. And then they complain about having to mow. Try using a push mower, the kind without a motor. Vacations back then meant getting in a car to go visit relatives. Homework was due at a certain time, and no make-up time. If you flunked, everybody knew it. No self-esteem building for the flunkies. No rewards for behaving. Lots of punishment if you were bad. |

I think the big thing for me is DVD players in vehicles. Now, don't get me wrong, when we leased our Odyssey we had a DVD player in it and it was heavenly for road trips.
But, going back to the whole road trip thing...um, my entertainment was looking out the window. Ugh...I remember when we moved from Hawaii to Virginia in 1986. Had the car shipped to California and we drove across country....in my Dad's Isuzu I-Mark. Diesel fueled....that thing lasted for a good long time. My sister and I could both sleep across the back seat together...those were the days.

Ha ha!! In the mid 90's I was awoken at 3am by my phone ringing and ringing! By the time I got out of bed, found the phone, and answered it, no one was there. I called my ex the next day and asked him what he wanted. He denied ever calling me. That's when I introduced him to *69!
