Default Some Monday Morning Thoughts on Getter Older

Oh well.....I guess it's better to laugh than to cry.

1. The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

2. Some people try to turn back their odometers.
Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.

3. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

4. When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think
of Algebra.

5. You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

6. Did you ever notice: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are " XL."

7. One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is
such a nice change from being young.

8. Ah, being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

9. First you forget names, then you forget faces.

10. Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about
your age and start bragging about it. I'm not there yet.

11. There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for
it. For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles
don't hurt.

12. The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then
your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends.

13. The easiest way to find something lost around our house is to buy a
replacement.

you know you are getting older when you won't leave the house until you've had a poop.

A couple of more thoughts on aging:

When I was in my twenties a good friend who was then in his late fifties (my age now) told me that getting older meant the number of friends you had dwindled as you learned to distinguish between acquaintances and friends. The plus side he always said was that the friends you kept or made in later years tended to be better ones.

And a sign that hung in the Doctor's office where my Dad used to go:

"Getting old is not for sissys!"
