For some odd reason, I consider that quite neat. A pool with shuttle ferries to get you from one side to the other. Amazing.

I'm also curious to know how they plan to filter the water. They mentioned it's saltwater, so I assume they have some exchange system in place, but I'd imagine that they have to do some amount of treatment - inbound and outbound.

Me, too! And I had the same thought ... how in the world to keep it clean?

Article said 1 billion Euros I think and 2 million to maintain a year.

This is what the article said about keeping the water fresh...
"Chile's monster pool uses a computer- controlled suction and filtration system to keep fresh seawater in permanent circulation, drawing it in from the ocean at one end and pumping it out at the other. "

What a beautiful pool. Even if it is a little indulgent to plunk it just a few yeards from the actual ocean.
