Default Update on needing positive vibes

Hey everyone!!
Haven't updated you much as there hasn't been much to tell. The pathology report is back, it is cancer but they way the doc talked to Glenn, it is extremely early and cut out. They tested lymph nodes as well, they like to see 14 clear nodes & he had 31 clear or something of that nature. We haven't seen him face to face to talk. He is set up for a PET scan which is a research scan but it is something like a CT scan only more in depth. It's on Friday. We will be set up with an oncologist after the PET results are back & then we'll look into options & go from there. It's not the best news but it is the best you can hope for in this case. Thanks for all the positive vibes, we really appreciate them.

And yes, I believe we are heading to Playa as planned, that's the current plan anyway.

Jackie,
Thanks for the update!
While not the best news, it's certainly news you can build on, and FULL of long-range positives!
Let us know what the PET Scan shows.
Best to you and Glenn and hope the trip comes off for you worry-free and here's to making it a celebratory sojourn!

I was hoping for the very best news possible for Glen and you, your family, but as cancer goes, early detection is a big deal. So is a postive attitude and it sounds like you have that covered. Positive vibes headed your way. How is your child doing?

I am sorry I haven't been able to respond before and offer you my support, but please know that I am in your corner just as I know you are in mine.

I do hope you will still take your much needed vacation to Playa and enjoy yourselves!

The older one is doing good, he's 18 & not nearly as sensitive. The younger who's 14 is doing better, he ended up quitting hockey for the year. That's a whole other story in itself, there was some bullying, favoritism and he's been battling injuries all year, not having fun so we said quit if you like. We don't have the time & energy to pick him up 4 or 5 times a week. He's just finishing exams so he can chill on weekends now. That's going to be fun actually, 13 or 14 years of every weekend in a rink in the winter, a break is heavenly. Thanks for asking.

Not the best of news, but it sounds hopeful for the longterm. Colon cancer is extremely slow-growing ... so when it's caught early like this it should be easy to control. Make sure you and your doctors stay vigilant; you do not want to get complacent and start thinking you're out of the woods prematurely.

Hubby should expect to get very well-acquainted with the colonoscopy process. According to my husband, the prep is just awful ... but whatever "cocktail" they gave him to relax during the procedure ... he still waxes rhapsodic about that.

You've earned a nice trip to Playa!

So sorry to hear about the news and as Cuff said, it is something you can build on, which is so encouraging. Keep your strength up, both of you. Hang in there Jmac there is a light at the end of this tunnel.

Hope to see you in Playa.
