N'awilns Jazz Fest

This morning the New Orleans Jazz Fest released the 2008 music line-up. We were particularly interested in the second weekend (May 1-4) because that's when we will be there. The headliners performing are fantastic!

Stevie "how's your bad self" Wonder!
Jimmy Buffet!
Carlos Santana!
Randy Newman!
Tower of Power!
Widespread Panic!
Keb 'Mo
John Prine!
Diana Krall!
and...
for the first time in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina...
The Neville Brothers!

Any other members of the Roo Krewe thinking of going? Perhaps a Roo Krewe Do could be arranged?

I am MOST tempted.

My BFF () lives in Louisiana and I haven't seen her in ages. Of course, I want to see the Roo Krewe, too. Oh...and I've never been to New Orleans either.

Those dates fall on a weekend, too.....

I would give my right arm to be there!!!!
Too bad that the Festival is happening so close to our Playa dates.


Maybe this is something that we should consider for next year instead of a Playa trip.

One of our favorite trips before we moved here was to go to Jazz Fest for 3 days and then fly on to Playa for 5-7 days. A very good vacation. Think about it.

A great jam band...they usually play a 2-day show when they are in our area. A friend of ours LOVES them.
