Default Things I haven't done in Playa
I got to thinking about all the times I have been to Playa over the last 15 years but never got around to or had the chance to do. I hope to remedy this on the next trip. Mostly

1. eat or drink something from 100% Natural.
2. Been to El Fogon
3. Officially meet Cherie and Papa T
4. Got my hair braided (and probably won't, ever)
5. gone topless... well, does the far north beach count? It was deslolate then.
6. Skydive........not my idea of fun.

How about you Roo-ers?

Sky dive on to the beach
eat at that cave place
bring in a sail fish

Iam sure I will think of more...........

Taken the ferry to Cozumel for a daytrip
Visited the aviary
Rent a sea kayak
Tour sian ka'an
Tour Coba
Have a drink at the Luna Blue bar
Talk current events with Papa T/D & Mark
Eat brekkie at La Cueva Chango

Go to Xcaret
Go to a Peep Meet
Have shrimp tacos
try the salsa at Carboncitas
Visit Luna Blue
Lay out at Mamitas or any North Beach
Eat at a street vendor cart

The list goes on and on! Hope to remedy this with more and more trips to Playa!

What a great idea for a thread Rita!!

We have done alot of things in all our trips to Playa...but of course there is more that I wish I could do...

1. Horseback riding on the beach
2. Swim with the dolphins
3. Swim in a cenote
4. Visit Isla Mujeres for the day

  • Walk north from Coco Beach to Capitan Lafitte or further to the BB Esmerelda (a 2 or more hour walk each way we're told, we're doing this one next trip)
  • Go to Xcaret
  • Visit Muyil
  • Horseback on the beach
  • ATV tour
  • Ek Balam

Things I've never done in Playa:

Never have seen the sunrise from the top of Coba (damned security guards!).

Never have seen a beautiful movie star getting a massage on the beach in Tulum (although Carlos at "Bikini Bootcamp" has...he makes makes sure to text me when it happens...another "lucky bassturd").

Never have found a bottle of 15 year old Havana Club Rum for sale in any store (although I've had a shot or two at Bodequita Del Medio).

Never have found a night time beach club as much fun, or as crazy, as the old, now closed Cap'n Tutix used to be (although Bad Boys is getting real close! Just wish they stayed open later...the old T'ix didn't even open until midnight).

Never have spontaneously dropped my clothes run naked into the sea at El Pirata (B.T.B.G.I.L.W.H.*)

Never have skydived (won't happen...not now, not ever)...or para-sailed (that I might do).

Never have done a deep water dive (more than 50 ft). Need to get that certification done.

Never found time to take formal spanish lessons (but soon...very soon).

Never have said "Never" about anything in Playa...well...about most things.

I can't believe how many people haven't eaten at HC or El Fagon...you poor souls!!!!

Things I haven't done in Playa yet...

I dunno...I think I have done quite a bit really. I would like to check out more of southern Mexico.

I have never :


Day tripped to Cozumel


Eaten the beans at El Fogon (on the list for this trip)


Spent the day at the beach in Tulum (checking that off this trip too)


Para sailed, but I love to watch them!

A few years ago there was a group of Middle Eastern guys from Texas staying at our hotel. One day it was raining and everybody was just kind of hanging out at the bar. These guys went and got a hookah they had brought with them. We all tried it, pretty cool.
