Latest update on needing positive vibes

Here's the email I sent out to our family & friends tonight, we have lots of friends here too so here goes.
Got the PET scan results yesterday. The doc said that there was nothing on there to be concerned with. He is setting us up with an oncologist in Winnipeg. He said that normally they would not recommend anymore treatments but at his age, it would be something to consider. That tells us he recommends getting a round of chemo. We had kinda decided to do it anyway as a precautionary measure. Been that route before with my Dad, he's no longer here, you can't always be sure the little buggers didn't multiply when the air got at the innards. Anyway, he is healing really well, learning slowly but probably never completely that little virtue called patience. Thanks for all the thoughts, hugs & wishes, we appreciate them more than you know. For some of those in my family getting this email. Mom has been in the hospital since Thursday, getting her emphysema straightened out. Doing well, she wasn't in as much trouble as last year at this time. She's hoping to get out in the next couple of days.

Unless something changes we leave in about 12 days (2 weeks from yesterday), I need the vacation more than he does now, he's rested cuz he cain't do anything. Guess who's running...

Thanks, it is good news in the realm of what it is, can't ask for better other than it not to have happened but it did, ya deal with it.

Thanks! I'm doing okay, Kelsey not so much.

I'm going to do a new blog entry tomorrow, update on Kelsey's foot and what not. The outlook on that is looking better. But I don't want to tie up your thread!

You both have a great positive outlook on things, and your great attitude is what will get you guys through. Kudos to both of you! (the kids must be relieved too! )

Don't worry about tying up any thread, I don't mind at all.
The positive outlook on things.... you have to have or you're screwed, unfortunately too many people forget this, even if you're not sick or potentially sick, more people gotta get a better attitude (your family sets the standard in positive attitude btw, it has helped my attitude many, many times), it just makes life & the world that much better.
I'm of the attitude, when life hands you lemons, make lemonade (or limes, then add it to a Dos Equis Amber) & drink!!!!!

You are so right about this. I thought my hubby would crumble when he was diagnosed, but he fought back really well, and always looked for laughter in the indignities ... now he has no patience for his sister, who is a hypochondriac, and he swear won't be happy until she gets cancer, too.

Anyway, enjoy your vacation!
Hubby's chemo for rectal cancer really didn't bother him that much: didn't keep him from working, exercising, feeling okay, he kept his hair ... it's not a systemic, carpet-bomb approach like for some of the other cancers.

Thanks for the good wishes & your experiences. We've been the route before with my Dad who was a lot like your hubby & when he did get diagnosed, his attitude was amazing!!!
