Something similar to that happened back when I was in High School. We were practicing songs for a variety show we were putting on ... While the stage and house lights were dim, one of the singers hopped off the stage ... we all heard a sickening crunch. At first we thought he had broken his leg or ankle, but when the lights came up, he was standing right in the middle of somebody's cello, that they had laid on the floor "for just a second". That poor cellist went into absolute melt-down.

Nothing's worse than breaking something so beautiful beyond repair.
