Reminds me of a movie (of course).

The first version was called "Goodbye Charlie" with Debbie Reynolds and Tony Curtis.(kids...those were actors from long ago ) The remake was called "Switch" and starred Jimmy Smits and Ellen Barkin. The story concerns a womanizing playboy who is killed by a p.o.'ed lover and immediately returns to life as a beautiful woman! The guy...girl... must deal with his/her new body and, to redeem his soul, come to grips with the beauty of his own feminine nature, while dealing with the fact that his best friend is now falling in love with his girl persona!

And Long Kiss Goodnight is totally a guy movie! Geena Davis' greatest role since the string bikini'ed babe of "Earth girls are Easy". And Samuel Jackson before he was famous. Love that Flick! "Chefs do that".

Papa T

P.S. Am I the only guy who actually cries when Julia Roberts dies in "Steel magnolias"?

I get a kick out of that movie.
Ellen nailed it...Blake Edwards flick.
During a heyday for Ellen professionally, and was just coming off Sea of Love.
Smits was at the height of his LA Law popularity at the time...but I didn't picture him as a "Walter" (his name in the 'Switch' film).

Don't recall seeing Goodbye Charlie...

From Dusk to Dawn has just started.
Texas Ranger Earl McGraw has just pulled up to the World of Liquor for a beer and a bottle of Jack.

I think I'll settle in for a bit.
Well, at least until Santanico Pandemonium dances.

A movie which contains the greatest scene ever put on film. Salma pours tequila down her leg to have Quentin Tarrantino suck it from her toes, and then she lifts her own leg to lick teqquila from it. Whenever I'm feeling down I pop that DVD in the player and fast forward to that scene. Always cheers me right up.

And of course that's the movie which gave the name to the Big Bastard.

Last September I first heard about a movie the Nicholas Cage had dropped, and Mickey Rourke was tabbed to have picked up the part.

Then this September, the film captured top honors in the Venice Film Festival and Fox Searchlight acquired the distribution rights.

By almost all accounts, this film is being lauded by the critics as a must-see for Rourke's portrayal of Randy "The Ram" Robinson.

When it's available here, I'll be seeing...

The Wrestler

Okay mine are:

Jeramiah Johnson
The Battle of Iwo Jima
3:10 To Yuma (old one or new one)
The Departed
The Unforgiven
The Deer Hunter
The Bridge on The River Kwai
High Noon
Vera Cruz ( Just saw it the other night, first time in years )
High Plains Drifter

But not necessarily in that order.

Crap! I forgot about Cool Hand Luke. The Great Excape, The Dirty Dozen, not to mention The Hustler and Hombre.

You've hit most of the ones I would have selected, but how about; Die Hard, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, The Sting, 12 O'clock High, French Connection.

Slim likes comedies...and stuff with college or high school students in them like "16 candles", Risky Business, Fast Times at Ridgmont High, St Elmo's fire, Porkys, Etc....he wont grow up.

He hates Bruce Willis movies...except for the "6th Sense".

I love anything with John Wayne...he is such a mucho macho guy! Give me Sgt Striker or Rooster Cogburn any day!

I can't believe more guys didn't have 007 films. My husband could keep watching them over and over. As a matter of fact, isn't it the time of year that the SPIKE network will be playing them around the clock?!
If it's not that its anyhting scifi. UGH!
