The Avalanche brewery does serve up some tasty beers. Never heard of Tommyknockers. I'll have to look into them next time I'm up in CO for some snowboarding.

Tommyknocker's is in Idaho Springs on the way up to the mountains on I-70. It's an old mining town with great ambienece. I think the bar top there is the original dating way back, you can see old dates carved into it. Cool place to knock a few back, especially when stuck in traffic heading back into Denver.

Pilsner Urquel is one of my favorite beers!

Never had any Dirty Bastard Ale, but back in the day (you know, when I was younger) Arrogant Bastard Ale was the official brew of the Jiu-jitsu/Karate academy that brother Duane and I ran (Brewjitsu...are you out there buddy???). If you've never had any, check it out. Click on the picture to go to their arrogant website.

BTW, the tall guy in the picture is three time UFC champion Royce Gracie. Toughest guy we know. And one of the nicest.
