Thank God this latest storm is going to miss us in the Ann Arbor area. Sorry to all my Ohio friends but I am done with that damn snow!

I thought the rain had done its thing last night, and was done with us ... but it has been pouring for a solid three hours today.
So glad it's not snow!

Now the wind is kicking up ... I hope the soil hasn't become too loosened around the tree roots.

Most the snow has melted. It's a toasty 27 degrees this morning, suppose to be sunny with a high of 42 degrees.

Even though I'm not a fan of the long winters, waking up to a sleepy Moose on my sports court, remind my why I choose to live here!

oops I woke him or is it a she? Too young to tell..either way I'm going to keep my distance!

How about everyone else, what makes your "home" worth putting up with the long cold winters?

Well let's see here.....nothing that I can think of. Other than I have the forest as my backyard. But that has nothing to do with the snow. I live in a small town between a city and a much larger town, and when the weather gets REALLY bad, they close the road, leaving me stuck in between.

Some photos, there! That young un could do some damage to any car that hit it, I bet ...

I have lots of flat land on my property, so I like to have a vegetable garden.
I'm going through the seed/plant catalogs right now, and it's such a happy feeling!
I had only a home-use plot last year. But I'm thinking of making an additional plot, larger, and selling the excess on a roadside stand.

little Ms. - we must put a positive spin on you being stuck in the snow - how about "peaceful seclusion" and think of all the traffic jams you never have to deal with!!

MWC - very nice, something about planting a veggie garden always puts a smile on my face! The soil on my land is crap and wildlife eat everything I can make grow!

I work for an environmentaly friendly lawn and tree care company, and we use this stuff called Plantskydd. Check it out at http://www.plantskydd.com We use it to deter deer/elk/rabbits/moose/voles from chewing up people's trees/shrubs/flowers/gardens. And you can spray you fruit/vegis in your garden with it. Just rinse before eating!

And it was such a beautiful day today, too. Good thing I'm not set to travel till Tuesday. If we get what is forecasted....I would NOT want to be at O'Hare tomorrow!

I just wanted to take a moment to vent my frustration. When I woke up this morning, there was 6 inches of new snow, on top of what was already there. Is there no rest for the weary? Must we continue to suffer the wrath of winter?

You are not alone in your frustration. We didn't get any fresh snow today but we have big giant piles of gray snow everywhere. Saw the weather channel yesterday, we are in for cold wet spring. Oh goody!
Monday is opening day here so I am expecting it will snow a few inches.

Oooh Im jealous! I lived in Palm Springs for the first 9 years of my life. Nice, hot, sunny....then my Dad moved us to Sun Valley, Idaho. Don't let the name deceive you. It's amazingly beautiful, but also very cold and snowy half the year!
