Question T.e.n.s.

Has anyone or does anyone use this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcu...rve_Stimulator

My physiotherapist has recomended this for me to use at home for my shoulder injury.
I do know that it does help with the pain management and I am hoping that if I do get one for use at home, that it would help me to cut back on the chemical pain relievers that I have been using.

Nora

I did use this several years ago for a shoulder/neck injury (car wreck). I used it for approx 10 weeks, 2-3 times a day. It did help. I also did heavy duty physical therapy and hot/cold compress treament.

I was able to rent one from a medical equipment company. You have to crank it up for it to really work.

Yes, this helps with the pain and insurance may pay for it - except the pads.

My wife is a physical therapist. She said it should help and cut down on the drugs as long as it used correctly.

I have used one on both my knee and my back - both under the direction of a physio and I think it does work - I have a friend who goes to a dentist that uses this on the head/face instead of freezing the area he is working on - you get to hold the controller and crank it up if you get uncomfortable - she swears by it. So I am guessing it must work! I hope you get some relief and good results from it!!! Hope you are feeling better soon!

Thanks everyone for the advise.
Picked up one this afternoon and hope it will help me manage the pain.
