Sunshine, mid forties, flood waters receding, it's all good......
Spent a couple hours dying and decorating eggs with my grandaughters, messy but fun. Hope ya'll have a great weekend.

49 degrees today. I prepped a room that I am going to paint. Originally it was a reddish chile color with light yellow trim. The more I kept looking at it, the less I liked it, so I decided to paint it a light gray and the trim and doors a shade about that color. Tomorrow, I will paint the first coat. So...it was good. I keep forgetting that Easter Sunday is this weekend. Duh.

I just had about 23 people for supper, a boatload of food & a ton of it got ate, everybody was whining big time. I'm sick of the usual turkey, ham, mashed so I mixed it up, had ham, scalloped potatoes for the wimps in my family, added empanadas (made famous by Deb of YWGDonDeb), Spanish rice, chicken soft tacos, various salads were brought, of course, desserts which were brought too. Definitely low cal food
 Was a lot of fun visiting with family.

Good Friday was good. Had lunch with my cousin who's visiting from Australia. A couple of older aunts in attendance, my sis and cousin. Had meat...shouldn't have had meat...but it was only a club sandwich.
 I don't follow the Catholic rituals anymore...maybe I should.The sun was shining bright today , it's been a few years since I saw the sun shine so bright on Good Friday.We have great weekend coming up...hope yours will be also. Happy Easter everyone!

We had a fabulous dinner with friends at HC Monterrey (Ainsley went with us....she's doing great!).
We wish everyone a very happy Easter! All I Need to Know About Life I Learned from the Easter Bunny Don't put all of your eggs in one basket. Walk softly and carry a big carrot. Everyone needs a friend who is all ears. There's no such thing as too much candy. All work and no play can make you a basket case. A cute little tail attracts a lot of attention. Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits. Some body parts should be floppy. Keep your paws off other people's jellybeans. The grass is always greener in someone else's basket.

I started off the day at 2pm. Oops! I had 2 hours to get showered shaved and dressed. My cousin had a Good Friday Fish fry starting at 4pm.
Slim was already there when I got there. First off, my cousins house in a Chi-chi part of town. (romo and Jessica rented the house next door for a month). His house is old and the lot is huge. Instead of tearing it down and rebuilding like so many of the houses in the area, he added on to it. It is so homey and cute. He has a huge pool in the back forty. The back is a big wooden deck and that's where the food was set up. He had shrimp the size of my hand, 4 biters. They were boiled and fried. Some guy was busy shucking oysters and another was grilling some in the shell with a butter garlic sauce. There was fried fish and grilled maui maui. And of course, a bar set up. Cousin lena made about 5 cakes including her famous Cherry nut. It killed me to see so much food left over. He prepared way too much. He also had an Easter egg hunt for the kiddies and then they spent most of their time playing soccer. (amen) Around ten someone broke out the yeager and it got crazy. Since me and Slim were in separate cars, I didn't drink..bummer, I love free booze.

Wow, just spoke with my nephew the Green Beret - we are great uncle and aunt to a new boy born on Good Friday!!! Someone to carry on our family name...
One of the names being considered is Dylan...
