Then it was Marissa's turn today. Yesterday was a gradual entry...I went with her for 2 hours...so today was the real deal. Well I was trying not to get emotional at the bus stop until my neighbor walked up with tears in her eyes cause her little girl was getting on the bus for the first time too! Ugghh...so I started boo hooing too!

After a kiss and a hug the bus pulled up...Marissa stopped and posed for me she as she got on the bus...my baby is going to "big girl school" now as she calls it!

Kindergarten is all day now where we live. One thing that makes me feel comfortable is knowing she is very familiar with her school and many of the teachers and personnel since her big brother Mack just graduated from there and she has been there many times.

What a smile!

She survived her first day...said lunch was way too long..."Mommy you need to give me more food...I was done and just had to sit there...I thought lunch would never end!

...She was the class helper today and received a special coin saying "I was caught being good!"....she can't wait to go back tomorrow.

That last pic is so awesome......She looks just like you Monica......

Great photos, Monica. Marissa looks way too happy to be going to school. I'm glad she enjoyed her first day.

Thinking back who-knows-how-many-years.... I can't imagine what it would have been like going off to kindergarden my first day on a bus.

I'm pretty sure I was one of those clingy kids who wouldn't leave my mom's leg. Quite sure there was lots of crying as well... Anyhow, kudos to your daughter for heading off like a champ.

Thanks. Marissa is my independent one...she is way ahead of her age in so many ways.

Thanks John. I think part of her confidence comes from watching all the neighborhood kids riding the bus over the last couple of years and anxiously waiting for it to be her turn...and also my Dad is retired but drives a school bus part time...so she has been on buses with him before.

BTW...for the record....I was one of those clingy kids too....

Enjoy the next few years with her because they will fly by.

Every morning when I drop Gracie off at HIGHSCHOOL - I wonder - who are all these big kids !!! They grow up so fast !!

It's hard to believe your Gracie is in High School!

I am having a hard time handling middle school with Mack...some of the girls in his school look like they already belong in high school

...I can't even fathom the thought of high school! Ugghh!

How old is Marrissa? She looks alot taller/older then most of the kindergarten kids that I know.

She is a big girl, she is 5 but she is a September baby and will turn 6, Sept 29 she missed the cut off with her birthday for going in last year by 2 weeks ......she is a head taller than most of her classmates, the girl in the picture next to her (her BFF) is in 2nd grade, as you can see They are the same size.

I was very emotional but I think having to go to work helped...if I had to sit home all day it would have been worse! Where does the time go?

Love Kelsey's new hair cut and color ... she's a beautiful girl ... she reminds me a lot of the girl who starts in that Disney movie, Road to Tabithia! You take beautiful pictures and I have enjoyed looking at all of them in the forum.

Thank you very much! And it's funny you say that about her looking like that actress, because about 10 people have told her that!
