I love them both, what a beautiful girl!

I do prefer the first one though. It is more intimate. It really captures her beauty simply. I think it can be nicer than a posed smile.

Thanks Ginger! I also like the first one. H thinks she looks older when she doesn't smile. Guess he's having a hard time realizing she'll be away at school next year! She's using this traditional one for yearbook:

I find it sooo interesting to look at them. It makes me wonder what their lives were like, what they were thinking, how it was for them back then. I have a few from my grandmother's house. I should really scan them in just in case I lose them somehow. You've inspired me to do that!

BTW, you can sure see that your grandmother picked up his mother's eyes, if that IS his mother in the photo above him. Those eyes are spectacular!

I hear ya... Im sooo impressed with what my dad did with these...let alone saving them through the years. Even more so amazing that I never saw a one as a kid growing up. Now that I look at it...I have her picture labeled incorrectly (remember...this is all new to me...LOL)

This is my Great, Great Grandma..... My Dads, moms Grandma

and My Dads Mom......1920's

Here's one of my Mom as a child, and my other Grandpa... around '45

And my absolute Fav of all of them..... A pic of my Mother like I've NEVER seen before (every pic I've seen her from childhood as a blonde) 17 years old.....1955

I decided to go take a look at GW's new home in Dallas...I didn't take a pic of it because there were alot of workmen around and a black car with heavy tinted windows in the driveway near the street..(I thought it might be the SS).
But I did get a pick of one of the properties behind their house...huge mansion. BTW..GW's place is very modest considering...but the hood is full of mansions.

His neighbor behind him

Then this evening...I finally got the beaver shots. The last one is him running for the gutter..and I was between him and the gutter...we scared each other...Hell, I never checked to see if they attack people.
sneaking up on him

closer

Lucky I even got this in the dark and both of us freaked out

Wow, Rita, I really like those beaver shots! (ok, I knew somebody was going to do it, I just thought I would be quick on the draw.)

Seriously, nice photos!

One night I saw a huge racoon in our yard. I was talking to a neighbor a few days later and he said there was a family of racoons living in our gutters near the park and I'm pretty sure he shot them.... We do live in Texas where people like their guns.

Maybe he will have us over when they move in.
