Default It"s A Twister!!! Auntie Em!

There are several tornado warnings all over the DFW area. One station has been showing a wall cloud as the twister starts to drop down to the ground.

They should be headed towards the Dallas area soon. Hope they fizzle out.

They are everywhere.....A friend who lives in Little Elm just called and said that he saw a funnel cloud going over his house......Was turning but was not dropping.......Am about to go walk the dogs but they are just talking about lightning in Downtown.....But four counties are under warnings for the next hour and watches for the next five hours......

All clear! The one over little Elm ws the one i was watching on the tower cam. It got pretty close to the ground but there have been no reports of it touching ground. Lots of cloud to ground lightning and hail the size of ping pong balls. One lady reported hail the size of a peach. Never heard the word peach used before.

Slim is pissed.. Judge Judy is being pre-empted for the weather reports.

I feel for you guys. I was at the Georgia Dome 3 weeks ago when the tornado came through Atlanta, hitting the dome and CNN Center. I was standing in the concourse of the dome having a beer with some friends when it hit. Pretty amazing. We didn't realize what really happened until we walked outside and saw the destruction.

I was happily oblivious while shopping at the mall with my daughters when the tornadic activity was happening. My oldest absolutely freaks at the mention of tornados........so I"m thankful it broke up before we got back outside.

Sunbaby.......sorry Slim was miffed at missing Judge Judy. I have never heard of so many followers of this show until I moved here. I see the Weather reporters answering some of the hate mail from Judy's fans from time to time. Boy do they get pi$$ed when a "weather announcement" comes on during show time.

Luckily the cap prevented the storms from getting worse. This is only the beginning of the tornado season. I have only witnesses a wall cloud twice and I hope I never see another.

My best friend in Atlanta told me her neighbors had alot of roof damage and other damages. Her house was untouched.

We are getting another round of severe storms after midnight tonight. I hope they fizzle out before they get here. I just had the pool cleaned...dammit!

So..what happens if a tornado hits a nuclear plant? Right now there is a tornado moving thru the town of Glen Rose. Yep...there is a Nuclear power plant there. Wonderful, huh? According to the map, it should go right over it.

Huge ass storm moving towards Dallas this early am. Already 2 tornados spotted. It's moving about 55-60 mph and should be in Dallas within the next hour. Hopefully it will weaken..but so far, no signs of it.
The past hour has had 23,000 lightning strikes, and the wind gusts are around 70mph.

Oh well, I hope we all don't end up "glowing" tomorrow.

It's over. At 3:45 am the news reported a tornado warning for Dallas. Each station had different opinions about what was happening. One put it in norther Dallas and another had it a bit further south. One arrow pointed straight to my area. So, I calmly woke Slim and let him know he needs to get up. We had about 10 minutes before the storm would be on top of us. I had already made the closet ready and put batteries in the little TV. About the time we finally crawled into the closet, the warning for Garland was canceled. They did warn about the strong winds though. So we sat in there about 5 minutes, which seemed like 20. Since the storms were moving 65 mph, it was over pretty fast. Our lights flickered and the tv kept losing it signal, but all was well for us.

No problems here but reports are coming in from all over of wind damage and power outages. Roofs blown off and streets filled with debris.

I'd rather be giving beach reports.

I'm glad you and Slim are okay, Rita. We were tracking the activity throughout yesterday afternoon and into the evening. Scary stuff!

I woke up between 3 and 4 AM and witnessed the storm roll through. Although, I don't know how far away you are from me, Sunbaby. Wicked lightning and gusts of wind. I checked out the pool below us this morning and noticed umbrellas, chairs and loungers had blown off the deck and into it. Would have been a great photo opportunity last night. The lightning lit up the "green building" (I keep forgetting the name of it) and the reflections off of it were amazing.........very cool.
