The year we took the kids with us to Playa we found ruins unvisited by tourists not too far from Capitan Lafitte's ... here's a couple of photos from there ... didn't take nearly enough pictures though.

A trip Report must end......so here is the wrap up!

I’ve visited several areas of the Yucatan and found Paamul to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the Yucatan! Shh…don’t tell too many people of this hidden gem!: Scott said it was great snorkeling here. It is a bit rocky, but that helps make this place so picturesque! We spent the day here soaking in our last full day of sun before heading back to Puerto Morelos.

Pammul also is home to an amazing RV park. Look at this photo...the RV's park under the huts- making a private cabana on the beach! Too cool!

We choose to spend our last night back in Puerto Morelos because not only is it a great town with affordable accommodation, the proximity to the airport (15 minutes) cannot be beat!

We decided to go back to Posada El Moro- where we stayed our first couple nights of our trip.

We were given a different room and were once again VERY pleased with the accommodations. It was sooo nice to feel air conditioning again after sleeping in Punta Allen with our casita with limited electricity (electricity out I believe at 11pm) w/ no fan for most of our sleeping time; it was refreshing to feel cool again- thanks to the much needed air conditioning!

Happy to feel air conditioning!

Our last night out! Back to Gallaria Gourmet (next door to Posada El Moro) for food and some wine---the waiter Rudy was glad to see us again!

This was by far one of the best trips to the Yucatan! What an enjoyment to see the town of Puerto Morelos and its friendly people and small town atmosphere. Playa del Carmen was such a delight staying in colorful and jungle like Jungla Caribe with the excellent location. We especially loved washing the dogs at the Peanut Pet Shelter. The peace, quiet and tranquility of Punta Allen was unsurpassed and of course finding the aqua waters of Paamul was a surprising treat!

Can’t wait to return…Hopefully (most likely) in December…until then bye-bye Mexico---

Excellent report...love your style of traveling and adventuring. My husband and I loved to travel that way before kids. It's a little harder to just roll where the wind takes you once kids are on the scene. But I liked living vicariously through your report! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Beth & Scott ... great trip report and awesome pictures ... almost as good as being there with you. Now I want to spend a day or two in Puerto Morelos and also go to Paamul since we've missed that place too. Would like to go back to Progresso one of these years again too. So little time and so many places to visit.

You did a great job with your report, I enjoyed it a lot. Especially the section on Punta Allen; I've never been there and your photos made me want to go!
