I loved reading the reports and I am glad you're are safe, happy, and having a margarita or two! Tell Dave hello.

I definitely had a few chuckles reading about your day. I remember reading Cheri and Tony's blog that they had to use the customs broker because of the menaje de casa. They said they would pay the tax, but he said they couldn’t because they had the menaje de casa. I think it is easier to pay the tax too. Did they make you show proof that you paid the tax at any of the checkpoints? Did you have to walk into customs or could you have driven through a line with no items to declare? Did you have to push a button for any red/green lights?

I can't wait to see the pics! Get a good night's rest and I look forward to the next report and new adventures tomorrow! BTW, are you planning to drive during the trip or are you leaving that all to Dave?

I had to show proof of the tax paid and the list of items that I actually declared at the check point. The check point that I went through seemed must more strict than Customs! When you actually drive through the customs area (must like you would drive through a toll booth, I think that the tires automatically pushes the button either green or red. I never saw the light when we went through but Dave said he did.

I plan on driving a little but much of my time in the car is taking pictures and lots of notes. Maybe I will give Dave a break tomorrow if he can promise to write EVERYTHING down!

Looks like you got alot of rain down there. No wonder the bugs were plentiful.

They worked! The 2 ladies are so cute and so happy in spite of their own problems. Beer barn! No way. That is too funny. I remember the first time I saw one of them was in a small town in Oklahoma. I think that was more than 25 years ago. I never saw one again until we moved to Fort Worth and we've got 2 of them in my neck of the woods on 377. Well one is in Fort Worth and the other one is in Keller, but they are not that far from each other. I guess we really like our beer and we're too lazy to get out of the car to get it. You gotta love Texas, Oklahoma, and Mexico. I'm glad to know we'll fit right in.

Great trip report, love your writing style, only thing I would have done differently was stay with the ladies in Tampico, they look like very nice people

Let's hope they didn't get lost! I'm thinking they're just exhausted from long driving days! I don't think I'd have it in me to write a trip report after 12 hours of driving!

Hopefully more than 1/2 way to PDC! I am anxious to hear from them. I assuming they didn't have internet access last night. I really hope they do tonight so we can make sure things are okay and catch up on the exciting drive on Sunday and today!

hey all...sorry I did not post last night. no internet. we are about 10 min away from playa now. as soon as we get checked into hotel, I will send the rest of the trip report...i already have it ready to copy and paste. hope you like it.
