Well, you know of course that I am loving your trip report, but then again I am a little bit biased I suppose!! LOL. I am due to be working out of our City of London office a bit during December.... I might this time take my camera with me. I don't usually bother, but you have inspired me not to take the place for granted Louise!!!

Yep, will do Tim.

And yeah, great job Louise! And I totally know how Phil felt with the need for sleep - it hits me each time I have come to and from Mexico from here. Its such a long bloody flight and the time difference seems to throw one spanner too many in the works. Especially when you have had turbulence all or nearly all the way over (yep, I had that too once, its a killer for sleep)!

Looking forward to the next installment....

Thanks! You guys are so sweet. Actually, I was thinking that not too many of you would be interested in my TR. My writing is not as colorful as most of you I'm afraid.

As soon as I upload the next batch of pics, I will continue this TR. Sorry, I've been kinda busy lately.

Raquelle... I was out running errands today and my last stop, before heading home, was at the liquor store. As I walked towards the entrance to the store, I saw this guy outside, sitting on his case of 24 (beers) waiting for for his ride. I wish that I had had my camera to take his pic. He was sitting on a case of Lucky. I have never heard of 'Lucky' beer before. It would have been a great photo opportunity.

So many cool things here in my city. I should always carry my camera with me.

Philly had a huge headache for 3 days straight when we got to London and he wouldn't even take a Tylenol! I so wanted him to feel better but he didn't want to put any chemicals in his body. Is this good or bad...I dunno. He said that he could sleep it off. Oh cripes...more sleep?!

I come from a generation where we 'pop' anything in our mouths to ease whatever ails. Thank God, we have grown out of this phase.

Hey, I couldn't even buy him a pint!

But...he drank coffee at breakfast, which surprise me about him.

-Coffee? You like coffee, Philly? I never knew that. You never drink/drank coffee at home.
-I dont' drink it very often Mom...but I'll have one with you.
-OK.

I then swallowed the last bit of my yummy Merlot, butted out my cigarette, grabbed my trashy novel and headed for the lobby to catch the lift (this is an elevator for those of you who are not familiar with UK lingo ).hehehe.

I open the door to our room and it was pitch black. So I flick the light switch on and this is what i find...

At this moment I am feeling disappointed, like the sad banana, really.... I had expectations about our Mom & Son trip. I was already feeling that the bonding was not gonna happen. .

-Phil? Phil. Philly?
-Hhmm?
-You have to get up, Philly.
-Why?
-'Cause it's late and I'm hungry. I was waiting for you downstairs.
-Hhmm?
-You don't know what your are missing.
-Hhmm?
-I didn't come her to watch you sleep, you know.
-I'm so tired, Mom.
-I don't care, get up! You won't sleep all night if you don't get up!
-Yes, I will.
-No, you won't.
-Mom!!
-Get up!! You've been sleeping like for 8 hours!
-OoooKaayyyyy!!!
-Good!

So he gets up and showers and we are good to go.

We set out to find a place to eat, on this cool and crisp London evening. Brrr...

So up Bayswater we go and left on Queensway...my hood, by now.

-Where are we going, Mom?
-Not too far Philly, follow me.
-Is it far, 'cause I am freezing.
-No, it's not far.
-What are you hungry for?
-I dunno. You?
-It doesn't matter to me, Philly. Whatever you would like. You need to eat, you haven't eaten all day. What are you hungry for?
-I don't know. You?
-I don't care. Let's just find a place that you would like, ok?

Let me tell you that on Queensway Rd, you can find just about any kind of food that one would ever imagine...Italian, Chinese, Morrocan, East Indian, American, Japanese etc...etc...

So, we settled on this one.

Bella Italia happens to be a chain restaurant in London. But don't let this be a disappointment. It became a chain only because it was so successful that they decided to open up restaurants in different parts of the city. The food was very good and so was the service!

So far, I am impressed.

This was our view.

Following our meal at Bella Vista, we were so stuffed and I was really tired from my day. And so was Phillip.

We headed back to the hotel, anticipating our organized tour, with Globus, the following morning.

Wouldn't you know that he hardly slept all night. Not due to the fact that he had slept the whole previous day, no... that had nothing to do with it, he told me.

It was my snoring that kept him up all night!!!

We woke up early and headed down to the dining room for our breakfast before our tour bus was to pick us up.

Breakfast was included in our prize trip. Cool.

I don't have any pics of our buffet breakfast but let me tell you that it was something special. I wish that I would have taken pics of the buffet but my son would have died of embarrassment. He is very camera shy... and my taking photos of our food would have thrown him over the edge. He despises any kind of attention. Unfortunately, a camera will do this, every time.

For those of you who long for a good ol' fashion English Breakfast, we had...

-fried eggs on an english muffin
-bangers (THE best sausage in the whole world!)
-blood pudding
-fresh croissants & marmalade
-figs galore! (figs are such an indulgence in Canada because they are very pricey here)
-potatoes
-cereal
-fresh fruits
-juice
-fresh coffee in a coffee press carafe
-etc...etc...etc...

I gained so much weight in London.

After breakfast...our tour.

The richest man in London...
His home...
World's 4th Richest Man Loses $28 Billion - Luxist

Prince Charles lives here. Humble abode, if you compare it to the above.
So much more history to it though.

Sting's house, #11...
(a garden townhome) right next door to royalty.

His flower box..

I love the magnolia painted homes that you see all over London.
