Default Over and Above at the Luna Blue

I didn't know if I should just add to the other thread or not, but I didn't want it to get lost in that thread either.

This isn't a complete trip report, but we stayed at the Luna Blue in 2006, during PeepFest. We had a beautiful room with a full kitchen. The room was large and roomy, and had a nice balcony.

Our stay there was perfect, of course, but one thing really stood out for us. We had rented a car, and the rental company was supposed to pick the car up from out front of the Luna Blue. We left the keys with Jaime, and went to the beach. We noticed later that day that the car hadn't been picked up, and didn't think much of it. The next morning, we were more concerned to see the car still there. We used the phone at the front desk to call the company, who told us they couldn't find the hotel so we had to pay an extra day for the car! (I'm not going to name names here, because it could very well have just been one bad experience so I don't want to muddy anyone's business rep over it)

At that point, we were a bit pissed to say the least, and Tony proceeded to get on the phone and plead our case for us with the company. They didn't seem to want to budge. they also would not be specific about when someone would be coming to get the car, and we were worried about not being there as we wanted to make sure to get some paperwork if we had to pay for an additional day; we were leary about them just freely charging amounts to our credit card.

Tony hung up, told us to go to the beach and relax and not worry about it, that he would see what he could do and take care of it. That was wonderful! We did exactly that.

Later when we were back from the beach, a rep from the company finally came. Tony tried and tried to make it so we weren't charged another day, and we couldn't believe how much help he was giving us. In the end we still had to pay an extra day, but we were soooo impressed with Tony taking all that extra time of his own to try to help us with a problem that had nothing to do with his hotel in anyway...we had booked that car on our own, independantly. Yet he felt the need to assist his patrons, and make our vacation go as smoothly as he could.

Thanks, Papa T!
