Oh man, I TOTALLY understand what you were going through on the boat. I don't do well on boats, and I've been on them when feeling totally awful, and it is a horrid feeling and horrible experience when you can't feel better.

One thing that Cheri taught me was to swim when you feel crappy. We were on a catamaran, and I didn't feel well and wouldn't have gone in the water - instead I'd have stayed on board, laying down. but I took Cheri's advice and went in with her and felt better almost instantly, bobbing in the water. I don't know the reasoning why, but it helps.

Day 3- Saturday Dog Wash Day at the Peanut Pet Shelter!!!

Before our trip, we visited our vet for some much needed samples of Doxycycline that the shelter requested. We planned to met everyone at Mega, and so we stocked up on some supplies to donate: shampoo, treats, dog food and towels. We greeted Andy and the crew and off we went! This was our 2nd washing and first time at the new shelter, and I have to say, it is very nice and the dogs seem very happy, cared for and loved. We met some very nice folks! Hello all who are reading!!

We are animal LOVERS and have 5 at home! One lab dog and 4 cats, one which was born deaf, and they are our babies- so caring for these animals on our vacation is our pleasure!

Picking up donations at Mega

Doggies loving their new shelter!!!

A great washing crew!

all cozy in the shade!

good doggie...

posing for photos...

A cutie catching a nap...

...hello there!

...Someone found some good shade!

Lucy's sponsor dog

Scott found a new baby to love

Aughhhhhhh, what at cutie!

life is rough....with all this attention! (Bambie)

Stayed tuned for more of our day and night spent at the Coco's Fundraiser at the Luna Blue!

Yes, I knew places that cooked fish for you, perhaps one of these trips we will make that happen...but in the mean time he is content with catching and releasing.

After the animal wash, we stopped back at Mega for Scott to purchase an Amigo Kit phone. He lost his phone in the cab the day prior. Luckily, the insurance on the lost phone covered a new phone when we returned home he was able to retrieve all his saved numbers.

Back to Mega

Then off we go across the street to eat at El Fogon

After some excellent food and drinks at a cheap rate, we walked back towards the beach and noticed some beautiful flowers....

We walked to the beach as the sun was setting...

and had this view from our hotel balcony...

Coco’s Cat Fundraiser--- A Fun Night

….we purchased some drinks, tee shirts, raffle tickets and burgers!!

The Luna Blue

Lucy checking out the fundraising table

The crowded bar

A happy bartender!

Those kitties are sooo cute!! (Too bad I have 4 of them at home)

We met many new faces, and some faces we finally met (if that makes sense…)

Jack & Susan

a different Susan (Susango)

Eric & Laurie

...forgive me w/ the names here....Ele, Judy, Joe, John, Scott & I

Afterwards, we were hungry for pizza and went to this joint to grab a piece. It was good after a few cocktails!

...heres a photo of the place taken during the day...

The pizza was good, but did not hit the spot....then, we spotted an ice cream shop! The portions were absolutely tiny, so no guilt there, I almost walked away wondering if it was a sample, but Scott assured he paid…..(I would say way too much).

Stay tuned for more!!!!

Great report. You guys seem to get so much done while you're there. We walk to the beach and are exhausted and have to rest all day to walk back to our room at the end of the day.

Day 4- Sunday a day at the Beach and a Peep Meet at Zenzi’s

We decided Sunday would be a day at the beach in Playa del Carmen. We opted for the area north of the hotel, where Scott had luck catching a big one.

We decided Scott, of course we bring his fly rod while I relaxed….

Some scenes along the way...

Monkey sign for La Cueva del Chango...has anyone ever ate here? I’ve always wanted to try it out, its scenery looks tempting in the midst of the trees and vegetation. Next trip, I will try it!

A cute little chico

Sculpture

I spotted some swanky architecture.... condos I presume, that I crave to own, rent or live in!!

fly fishing

Ah....he did get lucky....again.... (notice that shirt again, he loves it!)

There's me....relaxing (playa y sol is all I need)

Random beach scenes...

We spotted a beach wedding

On our way back we stopped at the fruit cart and bought cups of fruit and loved the chili powder topping!!!! Sounds gross, but its a great combo!

After a day at the beach we washed up and headed to Zenzi’s to meet some peeps that Lucy arranged.

I have never been to Zenzi’s, its quite the posh environment, and the owner, Jez is a very nice man to say the least, very friendly, personable and accommodating.

A Zenzi peep meet at sunset

Eric & Laurie

Lucy & Michael

Jamey & Don

Those lighted coconuts on the trees really set the scene!

Afterwards we decided to show Lucy & Michael Playa Mart...we were on a tee shirt hunt, then we all went to El Fogon for some awesome food!

As we walked back to our hotels, the 4 of us were very impressed that PDC has a skate park!

Scott and I had a nightcap at Al's bar adjacent to Hotel Banana and enjoyed some delicious dessert and wine!

We were preparing for our big day tomorrow at Kantun Chen Eco Park!!!!

Stay tuned

Edy and Chino kept tellling me to focus on looking at the shoreline and not the water....but it didnt work...I still felt sick.
