Default Sunday in Paamul

Well, I'm not certain a day in Paamul quite qualifies for a trip report but I took a bunch of pictures of our day and posted them here.
There are a few more photos in our gallery including pictures of the menu for those of you who like that kind of thing.

My kids just loved Paamul, all the beachcombing in the ironstone. We always got sunburned, because we'd walk out to the point, and just keep going ... seemed to spend hours tossing old coconuts into the surf, only to have them come pounding back with each wave.

Sigh.

Crazy thing: We were out in the sun from 1:30 to 5:30 with no sunblock and not one damn tan line to show for it WTF!!!

I get the whole "blood thinning" thing but seriously....WTF?

Loved the pics, Michele! It made us want to go to Paamul for a day.

How is the snorkeling there? It always looked so shallow but I didn't check out the whole bay.

I haven't been for almost 2 years , but it was one of the better places post-Wilma. But you have to get there early in the morning, before the wind kicks up and the cruise-ship crowds get there. The easiest access is from the tiny beach in front of the restaurant. From there you can explore the shoreline to the left, leading out to the point; there's also a coral head sort of in the middle of the bay ... that's very nice.
I've never entered anywhere else but from that part of the beach, so I'm not sure what it would get you to enter elsewhere. There do appear to be "swimmable" areas among the coral shallows ... I think you would tend to see smaller specimens there, though.

Connor HATES the beach. "It's so booorrrring" He prefers to stay home and text his buddies. Teenagers. A moody lot.
