Monica and Michael "in the Roo" 2008
Part I
Its now about 11 pm on Monday we are both dressed in Playa clothes, We have a 6:45 am departure time from BWI so that means we will be leaving the house at around 3:15 am…. not to bad I like getting in early and having a full day ahead of us…a few days ago Monica and I both came down with sinus colds and neither of us were breathing out of our noses so we loaded up on meds and Monica went to rest on the couch ……but I can’t sleep so time to load the bags in the truck. We packed light and would be just checking one bag, I weighed it on the bathroom scale 51 lbs……we are allowed 50 lbs so I removed some shoes that I really didn’t think Monica would need I mean four different flip flops in assorted colors plus some dressy black slip ons well a sacrifice needed to be made so the green flip flops would be staying home  …..oh and I moved my 3 inch think “History of Nearly Everything” by Bill Bryson to my carryon,  reweighed and we are now in at 48 lbs perfect. I played on the computer till like 1:30 while Monica napped…..then I decided to just lay on the other couch and watch some TV to kill some time but by no means was I going to sleep……well about 30 seconds after I was horizontal I was joining Monica with some ZZZZZZZZZZZZ……We were both sleeping light and up and moving right on time and on the road by 3:10 am and headed to the airport parking ……we were the only ones on the shuttle bus from the lot to the terminal….and our driver was an escaped mental patient who was going on and on very loudly about how much he hated his kids and his son was due to get out of Jail this week the whole time looking back at us with eyes fill with anger……he scared the hell out of us both…..when we got to the terminal Monica and I grabbed our bags and ran for the doors…….we got in line saw our friend John who works for USA 3000 he is a cute little old man who tells the same joke every flight we were surprised that he remember us …..but when he said “thanks for coming back I need this Job” we both laughed he says that every trip………Monica had done the prebooking for our seat so we would be up front……..so we went through TSA and Monica had the SSSS on her boarding pass and got strip searched  ….flight was on time and we recognized the flight staff lots of kids and older folk on this flight……the in-flight movie was I Robot I watched it while Monica slept…..it was okay at best……we were both disappointed that USA3000 now charges $5.00 for food…….smooth landing and we were in the new terminal for the first time it was nice……smooth sailing through customs…..now through the land sharks…….Monica helped an older couple who almost got trapped ……out the door and into the warm sun…..saw the sign with our name misspelled and met another couple with two daughters who were sharing our transfer……..they told us it was their first time in Playa……..we gave them some advice……and soon we were at the Blue and heard our friend Germo say hello Mr and Mrs Cullison welcome back Last edited by banzoomba; 03-15-2008 at 10:05 PM.

Part II
It feels good to be back home     So our room is not ready yet…no big deal…we are starving anyway its 10am here but 11am back home and we have been on the go since 3am and we were to cheap to get the $5 sandwiches on the plane. So we leave our bags and I say “lets go get some shrimp tacos at El Oasis”….. Monica suggest we try Pinche Gringos instead because its much closer. Well we were too early for lunch…breakfast was still being served…so we have a beer or two instead. Then we make a few phone calls to let family know we made it safely. I also made a call to a certain someone in Texas to rub it in that we were having our first shot and he was still at work   …..then we make our way back to see if the room is ready so we can unpack and maybe just eat on the beach…….rooms not ready yet but Tony & Cheri are here give us the grand tour of the bar and our VIP card…lots of hugs and kisses…and a few more beers…and we watch the artist work on the mural on the wall….then we get the call our room is ready we take the bags up and open the big one to take out the gifts we brought for T and C….and Monica notices things don’t look right and we find a note from TSA that this bag has been searched…..Monica checked to make sure nothing was missing but all was well. Wall hanging over our bed    Bottle of wine for the Bar with the Luna Blue Label

Part II.5
Few more drinks at the Luna Blue bar then we realize we better get something to eat so we head down 5th for El Oasis and shrimp tacos. And they were as good as ever! I used to be a green sauce guy but now I am in love with the brown sauce    On the way back we decide to take a stroll down the beach.   When we got back to Luna Blue we finally see Tammy and DavidB , Shammy and Linda who had just gotten back from the beach! Tony behind the bar making David and I the soon to be famous Tony Margarita...it has the great flavor or tequila without all the sweet stuff.   Me and DavidB  We had pre dinner drinks at the Luna Blue bar and met Starfish (MJ and Mark) and Queencityfan Sharon and her daughter Jen …..Monica and I decided to go to Babes around the corner for dinner…..it was not very crowded we spotted Nancy (nng88) who was walking by she visited with us while we waited for our food. Oh and the VIP card came in handy here Meatballs for Monica  Thai Chicken for me  Dinner was great but the travel day had started to catch up with us and we have the Tulum trip tomorrow so we were in bed and sound asleep by 10
