We stayed at Pension San Juan a couple years ago. Our room was nothing special but it was clean and with the A/C on we didn't notice any noise. We really enjoyed the roof top kitchen though and usually we were the only ones up there. Thank you so much for the awesome trip report with all the beautiful pictures. This is what I live for ... .. I hope there is more.

Thanks so much for the report -- especially the photos and video. Mikey brings the region to life like nobody else ... great stuff!

And glad you two had a good time!

He is an honourary "scouser" now that he has become a Liverpool supporter. He therefore probably had an urge to remove the hubcaps and it affected the wheels.

Thanks for the compliments to all of you.

Saturday :

We woke up early (around 4:30) and headed to the North end to catch the sunrise on film. Yeah, yeah……we were a little early as the sun doesn’t rise until 6:00 am but we were eager to start our day. We wanted to walk to the end of the pier but noticed they have a security guard keeping watch……although even with our limited Spanish and some greenbacks we were allowed to enter and this is where we stayed for the next 3 hours. It was freakin cold and about an hour into it I was hoping Mikey was getting some damn good film on the fishermen as the sun still hadn’t shown yet. We ended up getting some really good footage and decided to pack it up and head to Java Joe’s for some coffee and Hangover Special which consisted of fried eggs, cheese, sausage and tomato on an English muffin. Tasty indeed. This was to become our morning ritual for the remainder of our stay in Playa.

I need to capture the sunrise and fishermen from the video .......I need a little help from Mikey to do this.....so I'll get them up as soon as I can. Pics of scenery from our trip to Puerto Morelos coming up.

It was a little disconcerting to be stuck.......it wasn't like we were on the Rubicon Trail near Lake Tahoe......with other Jeeps to pull us out. I had the necessary provisions in case we had an all nighter..........Liter of water and 2 packs of smokes.
