We went on a Carnival Cruise and Cozumel Mexico was one of our stops. A local guy on the ship suggested to us to go to Mamitas Beach stating it was the best beach in the area. He was right! The only thing that took us back was he neglected to tell us that tops were optional - wasn't that big of deal. A lot of locals go to this beach. It was the whitest sand I ever saw and the canopy beds on the beach were an awesome touch!! We took the best pics of any beach ever! As far as the chair rental, you have to expect to pay higher prices for vacationing at popular spots. Highly recommend and if we get the chance, we will return!!!

We bought beach chairs and umbrellas, thinking we were smart, you know, doing the long term investment and not getting "ripped off". Well, after lugging all our "stuff" to and from the beach a couple of times we soon thought $7.00 per chaise WITH palapas was a VERY good idea. We went in October so being able to run to the restaurant for a cold one and a snack was a saving grace too. VERY attentive servers, good prices for a beach club, good standard food if you stay with the local treats, don't try anything like shrimp coctail etc... too strange. Great spot we say 8 out of 10! :-)

Not what I expected. $10.00 FOR A CHAIR?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? If i am paying $3.00 for a domestic beer, and keep on ordering then my chair should be free. Why have all the places started charging for chairs!?!?
