Offering upscale Mayan cuisine, Yaxche is a popular choice for special occasions. Although the menu items may be exotic and unfamiliar, descriptions are provided in English and Spanish.
You might start off with the spicy Pibxcatic, a pork stuffed chile pepper or the Massewal soup, similar to a chicken tortilla soup. Tasty and truly Mayan entrees include Cochinita Pibil, shredded pork steamed in a banana leaf, or the Blackened Stuffed Turkey (Rellenos Negros), turkey stuffed with boiled egg and beef in a black pepper sauce. For dessert, Tronco Maya, the table flambeed fruit and ice cream, is always a crowd pleaser.
Ask to be seated in the back, where you'll find a dimly lit courtyard surrounding by faux Mayan ruins and art.
Open for lunch and dinner.

Yaxche has great food. I have been there everytime that I am in PDC. It is on the higher end in Mexico, around $25 per person.
